ABOUT

I am Algy Brinton. I have been practicing the art of photography professionally for more than ten years.

After finishing my Business degree at Oxford Brookes University in 2001, I spent five months studying professional photography at the London College of Printing.

In 2002 I started work as an assistant for Warren Du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones; as two of the modern masters of fashion photography they taught me what was achievable through great photography over an invigorating four year period.

In addition to my photographic training, I joined the British Territorial Army in 2003 to follow my other passion, the military profession. During my service in the TA I have deployed on combat operations in Iraq (2005-2006) and Afghanistan (2008).

Since early 2009, I have been working on a series of independent projects with both military and corporate clients. I have been fortunate enough to work on five continents, from the Jungles of Africa to the desserts of the Middle East, within the Arctic Circle and in a number of conflict zones.

In July 2011 Third Millennium International published my first book, entitled ‘Twice the Man’ which follows a pictorial year in the life of The Grenadier Guards, the most senior regiment of the British Infantry. The book follows the regiment’s soldiers from their sacrifices in the poppy fields of Helmand Province, Afghanistan to their ceremonial duties at The Queen’s Birthday Parade at Royal Horseguards, London. I am extremely proud that the first copy of the book was presented to the Colonel of the Regiment HRH Prince Philip upon his 90th birthday.

Currently I produce and shoot photographic jobs for clients across the globe in the Mining and natural resources sector. I have a firm understanding of all types of mining, right from the early stages of exploration through site location, plant building and into mine production. This knowledge allows me to work closely with your onsite staff to show your asset looking its best, so that we achieve high impact photography for your marketing or investment drive. I also currently shoot with a 65 Million-pixel medium format camera, which allows us to render some of the highest quality imagery currently available. These massive images give you maximum flexibility for your choice of output medium, whether you are using these images on bill boards or on the web, you get the best results money can buy.
